M. Phil. (Leading to Ph.D.) Program

M. Phil. is a two-year program (can be completed in eighteen months) leading to Ph.D. The program makes up to 18 years of study. The courses offered are in line with the HEC requirements of M.Phil. Highly qualified faculty members teach all courses. The following are main features of the program:

    • One year course work of 24 credit hours
    • Eight courses of 3-credit hours each
    • Four courses in each semester in first year
    • Research work (thesis) of 12-credit hours
    • Total 36 credit hours for M.Phil. program (as required by HEC)

M. Phil. (Commerce)

Four compulsory courses out of the following six, each of 3 credit hours i.e. total 12 credit hours as given below:

  • Advanced Research Methodology
  • Corporate Governance
  • Econometrics
  • Inferential Statistics
  • Issues in Contemporary Business
  • Philosophy of Social Sciences

Four courses from respective Field of Specialization each of 3 credit hours i.e. 12 credit hours from the following list of courses and including the untaught compulsory courses:

  • Advanced Corporate Finance
  • Econometric Models
  • Financial Modeling
  • International Trade and Finance
  • Investment Portfolio Management
  • Issues in Economy of Pakistan
  • Microfinance
  • Performance Analysis and Management
  • Research Applications in Commerce

Comprehensive Examination after completion of course requirements
