UCP - VIS (Volunteers in Service) Program deploys the second contingent of 32 M.Com students with 06 Lahore based NGOs for volunteer work from May 21, 2007.
The nascent VIS program has stepped up its efforts of expeditious and timely placement of UCP volunteer students in diversified volunteer work attachments afforded by 06 accredited, professional NGOs dealing with handicapped, disadvantaged citizens, relief and rehabilitation of HIV positive patients, micro-credits, non-formal literacy, gender-sensitivity etc.
In a meeting chaired by Dr. Fehmida Sultana, Pro-Rector of the University on May 17, 2007, the Deans were apprised of the contours of the program and valuable input was solicited. A policy decision to engage BBA students exclusively in volunteer attachments -in the initial phase- was taken. It is hoped that in due time, a network of partner NGOs would be developed to accommodate and absorb BBA students.
