Stargazer’s Night

The Society for Social Activities (SSA) in collaboration with the Lahore Astronomical Society arranged a Stargazing night on the UCP campus on Thursday, 11th November 2010.

A high powered sophisticated telescope was setup on campus through which students and faculty members were shown close ups of the Moon and the planet Jupiter with four of its moons.

Students of all faculties lined up and were fascinated to see such close details of the Moon. The students also asked many questions on Astronomy to which detailed answers were given by Omer Aziz, founder of the Lahore Astronomical Society.

Chairman BOG Mian Amir Mahmood, Executive Director PGC Sohail Afzal, Dean Academics Dr. Fehmida Sultana and Dean Faculty of Engineering Dr. Tabrez Shami also attended the event.
