Nom De Plume, Literary Society of UCP, held a talk show on the "Dismal Landscape of the Pakistani Film Screen" on December 28, 2010 at UCP Auditorium. The panel of speakers on this occasion comprised of actors, writers, directors and producers of Pakistan"s film industry which included Shaan, Nasir Adeeb, Masood Butt and Syed Noor.
Mr. Fahad Khan, President of "Nom De Plume" welcomed the guests and moderated the interactive session. He raised several questions addressing the concerns of youth about Pakistani cinema and the panel answered them with spirited patriotism.
Speaking at the occasion, film-director Syed Noor encouraged students to hone their creative abilities and talents. He offered the students to come forward and make a successful career in film industry. Film-star Shaan praised the youthful audience as the torchbearers of prosperity and future of Pakistan and asked them to be more objective in their views towards the film-industry.
The speakers agreed that the quality of film making could be revived with proper monetary and intellectual investments, just like the other industries.
Director Promotion and Placements, UCP Prof. Zaeem Yaqoob Khan rounded off the event with a vote of thanks to the guests and the organizers.
At the conclusion of the event, Pro Rector, Dr. Syed Tahir Hijazi presented souvenirs to the guests on behalf of the university administration.
