Type of Institution

The University of Central Punjab was established in October 1999 when the Government of the Punjab issued a No Objection Certificate vide Notification NO. S.O. (Univ.) 9-4/99, dated 11th October, 1999. Degree awarding status was then granted in the name of the University of Central Punjab and Ordinance No. Legis. 13-80/2000, dated April 10th, 2002 was promulgated to this effect. The University of Central Punjab is the first university in the private sector in Punjab which has been awarded degree granting status by the Government.
