Course objectives

This course provides basic information of psychology with reference to neurological
Basis. The students will gather knowledge about the brain’s contribution in every phase of the behavior. It will also educate the students about systematic methodologies which are used in the development of the theoretical frameworks of complex brain- behavior relationships.

Course content

The neurological basis of behavior includes Origins of Neuropsychology, Neurological basis of behavior, Evolution of brain, Physiology of Neural Cells, Types of nuerons, Nerve impulse, Communication within a neuron, Communication between neurons, Genetics and evolution of behavior, Ethical issues in Neuropsychology, Physiology of Nervous System, Basic features of nervous system, Development of the brain, Exploring how the brain controls behavior.
