Psychological Assessment I

The main objectives of this course will be to give an over view of historical points of psychological assessment, orientation of basic theoretical and practical concepts of psychological assessment and to understand the basic concepts and rules of test construction and validation.

This course has been designed to introduce the basic concepts and principles of psychological assessment. Moreover, this course introduces the students to the basic theoretical psychometric concepts and use of psychological tests. The main course objectives include understanding of the basic principles of psychological measurement and the techniques of test construction, administration and validation. Test rationale, construction, characteristics and the use of evaluation are emphasized. Understanding reliability, validity and understanding social and cultural factors related to the assessment and evaluation of individuals, groups and specific populations.
