Omer Irshad received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from The University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan. He has more than 12 years of software industry experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining commercial software projects. He has several years of experience in leading funded research and development projects. His major areas of research interest include the formalization of heterogeneous omics annotations, multi-omics data integration, semantic and multi-modular data schema modelling, and web semantics. He is also interested in developing multitier, modular, and service-oriented software architectures for software applications belonging to the domain of integrative and computational biology.
