Dr. Nazar Hussain Malik is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at UCP.
He graduated from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore in Electrical Engineering in 1973. From 1973-1975 he served as a lecturer at the Electrical Engineering Department at UET. He joined University of Windsor, Canada in 1975 as a graduate student and obtained MSc and PhD degrees in 1977, and 1979, respectively. Then he served as an Assistant Professor at University of Western Ontario, London, Canada for about 3 years.
In 1982, he joined Electrical Engineering Department, College of Engineering, King Saud University (KSU) Riyadh as an Assistant Professor and was promoted as Associate Professor in 1985 and as a Professor in 1989. From 2009 to 2014 he was the Chair Professor, Saudi Aramco Chair in Electrical Power at KSU where he was involved in research and development for Saudi Aramco. His areas of expertise are High Voltage Engineering, Electrical Insulation, Testing and Diagnostics and Electrical Power. At KSU he was instrumental in developing an accredited High Voltage Testing Lab. He served as the Technical Manager and the Quality Manager of KSU High Voltage Lab. Prof. Malik left King Saud University in July of 2018.
He is author/co-author of 4 text books and more than 220 conference and Journal papers. He is a regular reviewer for many ISI indexed Journals. He has offered many specialized courses to various industries in Saudi Arabia and has performed many sponsored research projects for various governmental and industrial organizations of Saudi Arabia. Prof. Malik has also supervised several masters and doctoral thesis.
