Bio-Waste Management Training

Faculty of Life Science in collaboration with Pakistan Biological Safety Association (PBSA) is organizing a training session which aims at spreading awareness regarding Biomedical waste that may be solid or liquid and how it may involve infectious materials including discarded blood, sharps, unwanted microbiological cultures and stocks, identifiable body parts (including those as a result of amputation), other human or animal tissue, used bandages and dressings, discarded gloves, other medical supplies that may have been in contact with blood and body fluids, and laboratory waste that exhibits the characteristics described above. Waste sharp includes potentially contaminated used (and unused discarded) needles, scalpels, lancets and other devices capable of penetrating skin. This training will ensure the methods of collection, segregation, treatment and proper disposal of this hazardous waste in University premises.
