The 27th Board of Advanced Studies & Research (BAS&R) meeting was organized at the University of Central Punjab (UCP), Lahore, on Thursday, December 26, 2024. The session was chaired by Pro-Rector Dr. Hammad Naveed and attended by a distinguished group of internal and external experts.
A key participant in the meeting was Prof. Dr. Arif Mahmood, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Department of Computer Sciences at ITU, Lahore. Dr. Mahmood praised UCP for its continuous efforts to improve the quality of education and foster research excellence.
The meeting also included the Registrar, Dean of Academics, Deans, Heads of Departments, Manager-GSO, and other relevant members. The session began with the recitation of verses from The Holy Quran, followed by an introduction to the agenda by the Registrar, and then a series of presentations and discussions. Key decisions included the approval of Doctoral degrees for 12 PhD scholars and the award of MS/M.Phil. degrees to 239 scholars.
Dr. Naveed expressed sincere appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the Directorate of Advanced Studies and Research and the Registrar’s Office, recognizing their significant contributions to academic excellence. The board members provided valuable insights to enhance future research initiatives and strengthen UCP’s research profile.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to maintaining the highest standards in research and academia at UCP, emphasizing its importance in advancing the university’s educational and research objectives.
