3rd Relevance Assessment Committee (RAC) Meeting of FOST

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FOST) held its 3rd Relevance Assessment Committee (RAC) meeting on November 14, 2024, chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Acting Dean. Esteemed committee members, including internal and external experts from the fields of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Mathematics, and Microbiology, attended the meeting.
The RAC assessed the research domains of PhD students inducted in Fall 2024 to ensure alignment with their supervisors’ expertise, in accordance with the HEC Graduate Education Policy 2023. The committee reviewed faculty qualifications, research contributions, and teaching experience to uphold rigorous academic standards and foster relevant research pathways.
The committee’s goal was to evaluate the researchers’ understanding of the importance of their work from various perspectives and to ensure they possess a deep understanding of their topics. This ensures that their research is up-to-date and not falling behind, enabling them to plan effectively for addressing research challenges. The committee also assessed the pedagogical approaches being used and the effectiveness of classroom strategies to deliver content. This will help ensure that the intellectual environment meets the required standards.
This meeting underscored FOST’s commitment to maintaining high standards in graduate education and research, ensuring academic progression and the proper allocation of research supervisors from the initial enrollment of PhD students.
