Department of Food Science & Technology hosted the Youth Leadership Programme and the 4th Food Innovation Competition (FIC) 2025 under the theme “Innovating for a Sustainable Future: Safe Food and Nutrition for All.”
Ms. Farah Naz (Country Director, GAIN), Mr. Faiz Rasool (Head of Policy and Advocacy, GAIN), Mr. Shoaib Awan (Senior VP, Innovation R&D), Dr. Hammad Naveed (Pro-Rector, UCP), and Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh (Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, UCP) graced the event. They applauded Dr. Kanza Aziz Awan (HOD, Food Science & Technology, UCP) and her team for organizing an event that highlighted food innovation, sustainability, and nutrition.
Department of Food Science and Technology in collaboration with GAIN and WizTech Solutions organized this event that featured over 120 innovative food products from UCP and institutions including NIU, MUL, UBAS, GCUL, UMT, and UET. Industry leader Nutrifactor further enriched the event with health screening services.
The Youth Leadership Programme focused on developing future leaders in food science through leadership training, critical thinking, and collaboration. FIC 2025 provided a dynamic platform for students to present groundbreaking food innovations, fostering sustainable solutions for the industry. A key contributor to the event’s seamless execution was Mr. Waleed Sultan, the Focal Person of FIC 2025, whose meticulous coordination ensured a well-organized and impactful experience for participants and guests.
