The Department of Civil Engineering, FOE, held its 2nd meeting of the Industrial Advisory Board on September 26, 2024 . The meeting was attended by Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Shad, Dean Faculty of Engineering along with Dr. Kafeel Ahmed, HoD Civil Engineering and senior faculty members of the department. Representatives from some of the top industries like Izhar Construction, Packages Pvt Ltd, Bannu Mukhtar , Ittefaq Construction Associates and the project director of Punjab Irrigation Department also participated in the meeting.
Following important matters were brought to discussions for seeking input of the board members:
– Attainment of the Program Educational Objectives by the civil engineering graduates of UCP
– Industry Oriented Final Year Design Projects with support and collaboration from Industry
– Review of Curriculum in the light of emerging trends like Building Information modelling, augmented reality, advanced building materials, sustainable and smart building designs & Artificial Intelligence.
– Industrial and Government support for PhD scholars working on industry or Government projects
– Collaboration from Industry for the 2nd International Conference on New Trends In Civil Engineering at UCP
– Mandatory supervised internships for UCP engineering undergrad students.
These industrial partners of UCP have recently provided internships to the students of F-21 Batch of Civil Engineering Department. Some of our civil engineering graduates are also working with them as employees. The board members from the industry expressed their satisfaction on the performance & commitment of our students and graduates.
The members also expressed their jubilation at the three batches accreditation of Civil Engineering Program by the Pakistan Engineering Council at level-II.
