Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry’s Short Course on Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Diagnostics Day 5 featured Dr. Bilawal Khalid’s (Registrar, Punjab Institute of Mental Health, Lahore) lecture on Standardized Blood Sampling and Collection Procedures, emphasizing the importance of precision and safety in clinical sample handling. He also guided participants through the Quantitative Analysis of Liver Function Tests (LFTs) and Renal Function Tests (RFTs), providing insights into the diagnostic significance of biochemical parameters in evaluating liver and kidney health.
Following the lecture, participants joined a hands-on laboratory session where they practiced applying these concepts in real-time experiments. The session also included a case analysis activity, allowing students to critically interpret test results and connect theoretical knowledge with clinical application. It was followed by closing ceremony and certificate distribution, marking the conclusion of this week-long short course.
