Department of Political Science and IR, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted a conversation with Excellency Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Ambassador of Pakistan to USA on January 20, 2025. The focus of the discussion was Pak-US Relations from the historical perspective and the changes expected after Trump’s success. Mr. Sheikh emphasised the importance of the difference between perception and reality and that we should make decisions on rational grounds. Pakistan is a sovereign country and will not compromise on its national interests. Later a Q&A session was held and students asked pertinent questions which were answered by Excellency Sheik at length. Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences thanked the guest speaker for his insightful thoughts which enlightened the students. Dr. Butt presented a UCP souvenir to the ambassador as a remembrance. A group photo of the guest with faculty and students was taken.
