Department of Economics Study Tour to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)

Department of Economics organized a study tour for students on May 22, 2024. Students of semesters III to VIII accompanied by Ms. Ume-Farwa (Lecturer) and Mr. Muhammad Farooq, Faculty Industry Liaison Officer (FILO-FHSS) visited Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). This visit was a vital part of their academic program, endeavored to bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and real-world applicability. This study tour included a presentation by the Head of Research and Development Department, Mr Kamran Saeed on the history, importance, and  functions of LCCI, a library visits and a meeting with the President, Mr Kashif Anwar. During the presentation and the library visit, students asked different questions related to the rules and regulations for the membership of LCCI and its role for the enhancement of business activities in an economy. The students also inquired about the criteria for the internships and jobs in LCCI. In the end of the discussion, they understood the role and importance of LCCI and the opportunities available for future entrepreneurs. Subsequently, the students were warmly welcomed by the President of LCCI, Mr. Kashif Anwar, who shared his experiences and key insights with the students. During the meeting with the president  Mr. Kashif Anwar a souvenir was presented to him. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ms. Mehrunisa, for her assistance during the visit. Overall, this trip provided a great learning experience to the students and enhance their knowledge about the functioning of the LCCI, the benefits given to investors in Pakistan  and the role of the organization in promoting economic growth and development in the country.
