Dr Muhammad Athar Siddiqui, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences presented a full-paper titled ‘How and when supervisor-related factors impact employees’ motivation to job crafting: A quantitative study’ at the 39th edition of the prestigious British Academy of Management Conference, held at the University of Kent, UK. The paper co-authored with Dr Waheed Umrani and Dr Alexandre Bachkirov of Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, offers new insights into understanding job crafting as an outcome of supervisor’s family motivation serially mediated through inclusive leadership and psychological contract, adding a new dimension to our understanding of job crafting, which so far has been treated as an outcome of individual personality trait. The paper was appreciated for its conceptual model, methodological rigor and practical implications offering organizations fresh insights into nurturing pro-social motivation for collective outcomes.
During a short trip to UK, Dr Siddiqui paid a visit to his alma mater University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and also met scholars from Rennes School of Business, (France), EDHEC Business School (France), Hult International Business School (London), and University of Greenwich (London) to explore opportunities for teaching and research collaborations with UCP Business School.
