Faculty of Languages and Literature (FLL), organized a study tour for its final-year BS students on November 29, 2024. The delegation visited three renowned institutions: the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), the Center for Language and Translation Studies (CeLTS) at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad, and Lawrence College, Murree. This tour provided students with hands-on exposure to advanced techniques in language studies and academic practices.
The delegation, led by Dr. Khalid Ahmad, Dr. Irfan Abbas, Mr. Nohaiz Mehmood, and Ms. Fatima Urooj, was warmly welcomed at each institution. At NLPD, Executive Director Dr. Rashid Hameed and Director General Dr. Mazhar Saleem hosted the group, offering an informative session and a tour of the language project labs. The visit concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.
The delegation then visited the Center for Language and Translation Studies (CeLTS) at AIOU, where they were welcomed by Dr. Ghulam Ali, Director of CeLTS, along with Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan and Dr. Furrakh Abbas. The visit included a thought-provoking session and a tour of the cultural centers, concluding with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photo. The tour wrapped up with a visit to Lawrence College, where the group explored the institution’s academic excellence and historical legacy.
The study tour proved to be a valuable experience for students, offering opportunities for future academic collaboration and broadening their professional perspectives.
