On 14th November, the Faculty of Languages and Literature organized an industry visit for students to the Punjab Institute of Language, Arts, and Culture (PILAC) in Lahore. The students were accompanied by esteemed faculty members, Sir Nohaiz Mahmood and Ms. Fatima. Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the management. Ms. Beenish Faisal Sahi, DG of PILAC, along with her team, provided an insightful overview of the institute and the various opportunities available for students to explore their potential.
The students toured the building, which included the exhibition hall and library. The importance of our regional language, Punjabi, was emphasized, and efforts to break the barriers to learning this language were discussed. Our students were also given the opportunity to visit the radio station, where some of them showcased their Punjabi language skills.
At the end of the tour, souvenirs were exchanged—UCP presented PILAC with mementos as a token of appreciation for their support, while PILAC gifted a Punjabi calendar as a souvenir. It was a fruitful session designed to bridge the gap between theory and industry. Such visits undoubtedly help ensure that our students are well-rounded and prepared for the job market.
