Faculty of Science & Technology hosted an international seminar titled “Particulate Matter and Health Effects: What is Known and What Needs to Be Done?” as part of its ongoing Faculty Exchange Program. The event addressed environmental challenges through global collaboration, with many faculty members and students in attendance.
Dr. Haider A. Khwaja from the University at Albany, USA, delivered a thought-provoking keynote on the health impacts of particulate matter, highlighting the latest research and the urgent need for action. His presentation helped deepen the audience’s understanding of the issue and explored innovative solutions.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Dean, FOST opened the session and Muhammad Yaqoob, Provost, presented Dr. Khwaja with a shield of appreciation for his contributions. The event was moderated by Dr. Nimra Afzal, she played a key role in organizing the seminar.
Beyond offering valuable insights, the seminar fostered academic exchange, inspiring new ideas and approaches to tackling environmental challenges. It left participants with a deeper understanding of the issue and actionable ideas for future research.
