The Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering held a meeting of its Industrial Advisory Board on December 12, 2024. The meeting was co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Faiz-ul-Hasan, a highly experienced industrial expert with over 40 years in academia and industry, and Dr. Rizwan Shad, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Prof. Dr. Faiz-ul-Hasan began the meeting with a recitation from the Holy Quran and welcomed the distinguished industry members in attendance:
- Mr. Abdul Mannan, Senior Technical Manager at Millat Equipment Ltd.
- Mr. Bilal Gauhar, CEO of Infinity Engineering.
- Mr. Anas Waseem, Managing Director of MECAS Engineering.
- Mr. Farhan Saleem, Manager of OEM Parts & Sales at Honda ATLAS Cars.
- Mr. Abid Ameen, CEO of Singularity Pro (SMC).
- Mr. Fayyaz Ahmad, Senior Manager of Projects at IZHAR Steel Ltd.
- Engr. Muhammad Usman, Assistant Director at WAPDA.
Dr. Muhammad Kashif, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, presented the meeting agenda and invited suggestions from the participants. The board members shared valuable recommendations, including the need for goal-oriented summer internships where students could gain hands-on experience by working on real-world problems faced by industries. These internships not only provide practical exposure but also prepare students for professional challenges.
The board also emphasized aligning final-year projects with current industry demands, helping students develop relevant skills and innovative solutions. The meeting concluded with the Chair expressing gratitude to all participants for their support, collaboration, and insights in shaping a brighter future for Mechanical Engineering graduates at UCP
