Department of Political Science and IR, FoHSS, has initiated a guest lecture series. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad, Professor Emeritus, Stockholm University, Sweden, delivered A lecture on “Pakistan at 75” on January 26, 2023.
He talked about Pakistan’s initial foreign policy right after its inception. Then, he commented on the major causes of the separation of East Pakistan. He shed light on the military’s role in domestic politics and its engagement in international conflicts like the Afghan war.
The speaker also explained the rise of nationalism in India and the Kashmir issue. He urged the students to develop free thinking ability to establish a progressive society.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt thanked the organizers and thanked the distinguished guest by presenting him with a souvenir.
