The first-ever Youth Leadership Programme on Food Systems was successfully concluded at the University of Central Punjab (UCP) as part of the 4th Food Innovation Competition (FIC) 2025. Organized by UCP and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), this transformative initiative aimed to equip future leaders with critical expertise in food policy, nutrition, and sustainable food systems.
The closing session was marked by reflection, recognition, and a renewed commitment to action. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh (Dean, Faculty of Science & Technology, UCP) and Mr. Faiz Rasool (Head of Policy & Advocacy, GAIN) delivered inspiring remarks, emphasizing the pivotal role of youth leadership in transforming Pakistan’s food systems. GAIN also pledged a special grant to support youth-driven initiatives, empowering participants to develop innovative projects and sustainable solutions for improving food security and nutrition. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates, recognizing participants’ dedication to shaping the future of Pakistan’s food systems.
