Department of Basic and Applied Chemistry, in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization, organized a specialized training session titled Practical Machine Learning Tools for Scientific Research. The session featured Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director ORIC and HOD Basic and Applied Chemistry, and Dr. Ali Saeed, Associate Professor, Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Science, as trainers. Prof. Dr. Farrukh provided an insightful overview on structuring scientific data for machine learning applications, while Dr. Saeed delivered hands-on training using Google Colab, demonstrating practical approaches to data analysis and model building. Faculty members from various departments actively participated, appreciating the initiative for fostering interdisciplinary learning and aligning academic practices with HEC’s revised BS curriculum to promote AI-driven innovation in scientific research.
