Day One of The Second Coming of Humanities: 2nd International Conference on Literature, Linguistics, and Language brought together renowned scholars, writers, and researchers from Pakistan and abroad to explore the evolving role of the humanities in a rapidly changing global and technological landscape. The opening day featured a series of keynote addresses focusing on posthumanism, memory, misinformation, decolonization, AI and linguistics, theatre, translation, minor languages, migration, and comparative mythology, each followed by interactive Q&A sessions. Panel discussions on Generative AI and the Future of Learning and The Politics of Translation encouraged critical dialogue, while research paper presentations highlighted interdisciplinary scholarship in areas such as digital humanities, AI-driven education, trauma linguistics, translanguaging, digital geopolitics, misinformation, gender, and multilingualism. The first day set a strong intellectual foundation for the conference, reaffirming the relevance of humanities scholarship in addressing contemporary global challenges.
