Human Resource Department in collaboration with a delegation from Evercare Hospital hosted a session on Smog and its prevention. A walk in A-Courtyard was held to raise awareness about the severe smog crisis affecting the region.
The air quality index has dangerously exceeded WHO guidelines, causing a rise in respiratory diseases and flu-related coughing. Most educational institutions have been closed, and a “green lockdown” is being observed. The excessive number of cars on the road and high emissions have worsened the situation, particularly for children and the elderly, whose immune systems are weaker.
The WHO considers an air quality index above 300 to be dangerous, but in Pakistan, it has been exceeding 1000, making it difficult for people to breathe. The walk served as a reminder of the urgent need for stricter enforcement of safety measures and for immediate action to protect public health during these hazardous conditions.
