Faculty of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA), held a webinar titled Safe Dairy Nutrition on December 19, 2024. The event focused on the importance of safe and healthy dairy practices for public health.
Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Manager Operations, Pakistan Dairy Association, gave an enlightening keynote on “Dairy Nourishment for Youth Wellness: Building a Healthier Nation.” Mr. Usman Sami, Head of Research and Development, Haleeb Foods Limited, discussed “Ensuring Food Safety and Quality from Farm to Table.” Mr. Khawar Paracha, General Manager Operations, Haleeb Foods Limited, spoke about “Empowering Industry Through Safe and Nutritious Dairy.” Finally, Ms. Somal Babar Khan, Assistant Manager Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, Pakistan Dairy Association, highlighted the importance of “Safe Milk-Safe Nation.”
The session concluded with a Q&A and Dr. Kanza Aziz Awan’s (Head Food Science and Technology department) closing remarks that emphasized the vital role of academia-industry collaboration in fostering food safety.
