United Nations Environmental Programme Appreciation for University of Central Punjab

University of Central Punjab organized a Prize Distribution Ceremony on June 27, 2024, to celebrate the award Certificate of Appreciation bestowed by the United Nations Environmental Programme. UCP leadership (deans and directors), the Communications Department team and members of the Climate Change Research Council (CCRC) were in the audience. The Guests of Honor were the team of UCP’s Gardeners who have been working tirelessly throughout the year to keep the University green and environmentally friendly.

On World Environment Day 2024, the Society of Science and Innovation (SSI) in collaboration with the Climate Change Research Council (CCRC) organized an event “Ecofusion” to engage its community in environment conservation. The activities included: Planation, a Debate Competition and a Painting Competition.

In light of this event’s success, we received a Certificate of Appreciation from the United Nations Environment Programme. To further this achievement, we passed the appreciation to the rightful people, our gardeners. Pro-Rector, Dr Hadia Awan distributed cash prizes worth PKR 10,000 each to our guests of honor, the five gardeners. Since their time, effort and dedication are imperative to our environmental conservation efforts.
