LL.M (Master of Laws) is a globally recognized program polishing the research skills of law professionals. Traditionally, the program had been valued for law academics. However, the global inclusion of new domains in law practice, including Cyber-Laws and Security, Intellectual Property, Legal Tech, forensic sciences, and electronic devices, has opened new vistas to the law profession. These openings require specialized and continuous grooming of the law professional in all these and other connected fields. That is the reason LL. M program has gained a cutting-edge for law academics and practicing lawyers

Program Mission Statement

To groom and harness the skills of research, innovations, collaborations, and transfer of interdisciplinary knowledge between law academics, law professionals and non-law professionals to make them able to fill the gaps of the competitive markets nationally and globally

Program Objectives

The program aims to meet the following objectives:

  1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the conceptual framework in the overall paradigm of legal and regulatory matters.
  2. Inculcate analytical skills for apt application of legal rules across a diversifying and wide spectrum of legal cases.
  3. Develop a critical and independent view of law and legal developments.
  4. Enablement to engage in methodical research and present legal solutions and perspectives in emerging areas.
  5. Readiness to embrace the market needs and be employees of choice/ preferred employees by leading legal firms.
  6. Contribute across all the relevant SDGs.
1Minimum 2.00/4.00 CGPA or 45% marks from an annual system in LL. B or equivalent
2All applicants are required to pass the UCP Admission Test with a 50% score or the GRE/HAT General/equivalent test with a passing score of 50%, followed by an interview by the Graduate Admission Committee

The program consists of 30 Credit Hours as per the following distribution in line with HEC Policies. Course Work – 24 CH in total through 8 x courses (each of 3 CH) in all comprising, 1 compulsory course of Research Methodology and 7 courses out of electives. Thesis/ Dissertation 6 CH.

The minimum and maximum period for completion of LL. M is 2-4 years. The student will have to complete 8 courses (24 credit hours) in three semesters and will have to register for the thesis in the fourth semester.
