Biochemistry stands as a cornerstone within the spectrum of Life Sciences, serving as the pivotal discipline that intricately examines the chemical nature, functionality, structure, energy dynamics, and the biosynthetic and degradative pathways of both simple and complex biomolecules. It seeks to unravel the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying development, health, and disease, with profound applications across Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Medicine. At FOST, Biochemistry is regarded as one of the most dynamic and prestigious faculties among Pakistani universities, distinguished not only by its strategic location but also by the intense competition for admission to its MS program. FOST boasts an exemplary student-to-faculty ratio, highly experienced faculty members, a robust publication record, and substantial research grants and support secured from both national and international organizations. Furthermore, the faculty’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and its commitment to advancing interdisciplinary collaborations in emergent fields such as Nano-Biology, Bioinformatics, Medical Biotechnology, and Stem Cell Biology, further solidify its reputation as a leader in cutting-edge scientific research.
