The Directorate of Research, UCP, in collaboration with Fast Cables Limited, hosted a panel discussion on “How Industries Can Go Carbon Negative and Promote Sustainable Practices” as part of the FAST Forward Sustainable Development Forum 2025. The event brought together industry leaders, sustainability experts, and academicians to discuss practical solutions for reducing industrial carbon footprints and advancing sustainable development.
The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, Director Research at UCP, who facilitated a conversation on carbon capture technologies, renewable energy solutions, sustainable supply chains, and policy frameworks to drive carbon-negative industrial practices. The panelists included Ms. Nazifa Butt, Director Climate Action and Sustainability; Ms. Noureen Arif, Manager Environment and Safeguards, Punjab Energy Department; Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob Javed, Associate Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad; and Mr. Raffay Bin Rauf, Head of Sustainability at Sapphire Finishing Mills
