Voltaire Society hosted Air Marshal (R) Shahid Akhtar, former Ambassador of Pakistan to Syria, for an impactful session titled “Marka-e-Haq.”
He highlighted Pakistan’s proportional and precise retaliation, the re-establishment of deterrence, and the importance of maintaining a controlled yet decisive military posture. Emphasizing the flexibility and dominance of air power in conflict situations, he underscored its effectiveness due to minimized ground vulnerabilities.
The session concluded with remarks from Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FOHSS), followed by a presentation of a souvenir to His Excellency Shahid Akhtar by Dr. Hammad Naveed, Pro-Rector UCP.
