We are pleased to welcome Dr. Huma Hameed as Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences’ Dean. Dr. Huma earned her doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at INSERM-Paris and the University of Rennes 1, France, supported by the HEC Faculty Development Overseas Scholarship. Her doctoral work focused on therapeutic pathways for hepatitis, liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma. She has 70+ research publications with a cumulative journal impact factor above 300, focusing on drug-delivery systems, nanocarriers, and translational pharmaceutics. She founded BioHealthion, a startup that has commercialized five products from academic research, and holds two patent applications with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan.
As Principal Investigator, she is currently leading a funded research initiative on nutraceutical product development at the University of Central Punjab. She has also supervised six doctoral researchers and fourteen MPhil researchers, and several of her students have gone on to receive international scholarships, including MEXT Japan, Erasmus Mundus, and Merit Scholarship France.
