Program Info

The Ph.D. in Business Administration program aims at ensuring the instillation of current concepts and knowledge of a specific discipline in business administration and inculcating the art of exploring beyond existing horizons. UCP provides a healthy environment for students who want to acquire research skills and bring prominent improvements in existing management practices. Apart from exploring the unexplored, the program focuses on filling gaps in the current literature. The coursework and directed research proposition enable preparing and instructing with the target of delivering graduates who have the ability to conduct research independently at a high level of creativity and quality.

Our PhD program encourages the discovery of new facts, formulation of new concepts and theories as well as the innovative reinterpretation of established ideas. We focus on improving the field of research in management sciences.

Outline

The PhD in Business Administration program consists of 48 credit hours. The PhD in Business Administration program is offered according to the HEC requirements. It is a research-based program with 18 credit hours of coursework, which is spread over six courses and two semesters. Supervised research of 30 credit hours is to be done after completion of coursework with the requisite CGPA and passing the comprehensive examination. Research work in a PhD is to be submitted in the form of a research thesis, which is evaluated locally and by international scholars.

Eligibility Criteria

At least 3.00/4.00 CGPA or 60% marks in case of annual system in MS/M.Phil.. or equivalent in the relevant field.

Candidates are required to pass the UCP Admission Test with a 60% score or a test equivalent to GRE/HAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC, with a passing score of 60%, followed by an interview by the Graduate Admission Committee.

Criteria for Award of Degree

To be awarded the PhD in Business Administration degree, a student must:

Successfully complete all required 48 credit hours, including coursework and research thesis.
Maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00.
Pass all Comprehensive Examination (written and oral), Colloquium Sessions, and Synopsis Defense
Publication of at least one research paper in HEC approved journal
Dissertation Foreign Reviews
Dissertation Final Defense
Fulfill all administrative and academic obligations of the university.
Complete the program within the maximum duration of 8 years as allowed by HEC.
