CBT with Self- Destructive Behavior

Department of Psychology in collaboration with the Fountain House organized a workshop titled “CBT with Self-Destructive Behaviours and How to Stop it” on June 13, 2024. This workshop was organized as part of the preparations for the Global Conference on Psychopathology & Rehabilitation (GCPR-24), themed “Wellness: Our Shared Responsibility,” which will be held at UCP on 26th and 27th June 2024.  The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mirrat Gul Butt, the Principal Clinical Psychologist at Mayo Hospital Lahore. Dr. Butt also serves as the President of the Pakistan Association of Clinical Psychologists (PACT), Finance Secretary of the Pakistan Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy (PACP), and Executive Member of the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA). The primary focus of the workshop was to equip participants with effective cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques to address and mitigate self-destructive behaviours. The workshop provided practical strategies and interventions aimed at improving clinical outcomes for individuals exhibiting these behaviours. The interactive and informative session significantly enhanced the knowledge and skills of Masters and PhD students, as well as professionals, thereby promoting clinical skills.
