The Faculty of Media and Mass Communication (FMMC) hosted an international guest lecture titled, “Integrating AI for Innovative Research Writing Practices” on November 22, 2024. The keynote speaker was Prof. Jason Gainous, a renowned American academic and Professor of Mass Communication at the University of Sharjah. Prof. Gainous has previously served as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education at the University of Louisville, USA, and Duke Kunshan University, China.
FMMC has consistently been at the forefront of addressing relevant and in-demand topics. In today’s world, AI has become a significant tool for enhancing research writing. However, it is crucial to use it in a way that complements genuine human input and refines research findings. This lecture provided valuable insights into effectively leveraging AI to improve research writing practices.
The event was highly beneficial, facilitating a meaningful exchange of knowledge between FMMC and a leading academic from another university. At the conclusion, Dr. Fawad Baig, Dean of FMMC, expressed his gratitude to Prof. Gainous and presented him with a souvenir as a token of appreciation. This event reflects FMMC’s dedication to bringing the latest advancements to its community and maximizing their potential.
