74th Independence Day of Gilgit Baltistan

On November 1st, 2021, students celebrated the 74th Independence Day of Gilgit Baltistan at the University of Central Punjab. They paid their respects to the Gilgit Scouts, who and the indigenous people sacrificed their lives for liberation and made the region part of Pakistan.

Our students Shahab Ud Din Feroze, Sohail Abbas, Jan Shair, Sumaira Batool, Arifa Batool, Muhib Ullah, Zunaira Ali, Ameer Hamza, Ramiz Baig, Hasnain, Kamil Amir and Hameed Khan, shared the history of Gilgit Baltistan, organized a cake cutting ceremony and a cultural dance.
Dr Faisal Mustafa, Provost and Dean Faculty of Management Studies (FMS); Mr Amjad Niaz, Director Administration; Mr Jawad Khan, Director Student Affairs & Alumni Relations and Mr Tahir Ashfaq, Professor from Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), encouraged the students to raise awareness and promote their regional culture.

UCP hosts students from all over Pakistan, and this is the first of many events planned for our regional students. We are committed to embracing diversity and promoting cultural activities at the university. Such activities help other students to understand, learn and appreciate different cultures. Students who have left their hometowns and made UCP their second home need to remain connected with their culture.
