Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences commemorated 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations through a special event where H.E. Mr. Sun Yan, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore, attended as the Chief Guest and visited the Chinese Language Lab, where he interacted with students in Chinese. The event featured a welcome address by Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt, Dean FOHSS, a documentary on Pakistan-China relations, and cultural performances by the UCP Music Society showcasing Chinese and Punjabi songs. In his address, the Consul General appreciated UCP’s strong relationship with the Chinese Consulate, praised the students’ performances, announced the continuation of scholarships for UCP students, and expressed interest in further collaboration with Chinese universities. Pro-Rector Dr. Hammad Naveed thanked the Consul General for his participation and presented him with a commemorative shield. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony marking the 75-year milestone and a hi-tea reception, during which souvenirs were exchanged.
