Department of Microbiology organized its first one-day workshop on “Biological Waste Management and Segregation” on January 6, 2025. Dr. Samman Ikram and Dr. Saba Kabir were the organizers of the workshop and Dr. Aatif Amin (HOD-Microbiology) was the chief organizer. The workshop aimed to provide the students theoretical and practical knowledge of handling and processing of biological waste. The invited external trainers were Dr. Samreen Sarwar (Technical Advisor, Health Security Partners, USA) and Dr. Hassnain Javed (Lab Head, Provincial Public Health reference lab, Punjab AIDS Control Program Lahore). A total of 60 students from BS Medical Lab Technology, BS Microbiology, and MS Microbiology participated in this insightful workshop. Chief Guest, Dean FOST, Prof. Dr. M. Akhyar Farrukh concluded the ceremony with motivating remarks and presented certificates to the speakers and organizers
