A blood donation camp was successfully organized by Volunteers in Service Department, in collaboration with the Aleem Dar Foundation, at the University of Central Punjab to support children suffering from thalassemia.
The legendary cricket umpire and founder of the Aleem Dar Foundation, Iftikhar Thakur, along with actor/director and philanthropist, Iftikhar Thakur and talented mimicry artist, Ali Mir, motivated students by emphasizing the importance of blood donation. They highlighted that, just as oxygen is essential for our survival, blood is vital for those in need.
Students enthusiastically participated, and over 120 bottles of blood were collected, demonstrating their dedication to community service. The Pro-Rector, Mr. Hammad Naveed, Provost Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob, deans, and directors of various faculties and departments extended their full support and appreciated the efforts of the Aleem Dar Foundation for this important cause.
This initiative aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
