CNN Academy simulation, Storytelling in the Age of AI has begun today bringing CNN Academy’s newsroom simulation to Pakistan, a debut for the country. From October 12 to 16, participants will work on stories that evolve by the minute, where every decision counts.
Over the week, participants will report a story from start to finish, track updates, pitch angles, verify sources and decide what to publish. They will question role players acting as officials, spokespeople, and witnesses at news conferences and interviews, monitor a social media platform streaming rumours, images, and claims and verify them before use, and report from the field. Throughout, they will work against the clock, balance speed, accuracy, and ethics, and grapple with disinformation.
CNN Academy trainers Luke Henderson, David Ford, Glen Mulcahy, and Caroline Scott will guide participants as they practise judgement, verification and storytelling as CNN’s newsroom does.
