Congresswoman Ilhan Omar joined journalist Kamran Shahid in conversation at the University of Central Punjab.
Rep. Ilhan Omar is an American politician serving as the US representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district. As the first African refugee to become a Member of Congress, the first woman of colour to represent Minnesota and one of the first two Muslim- American women elected to Congress,Rep. Ilhan Omar’s talk was beneficial for students, especially the large and ambitious female student population at UCP.
The contents of the talk were centred around topics of diversity, inclusion and Rep. Ilhan Omar’s own experience as well as about her efforts on the Higher Education and Career Readiness Policy and Finance Committee and the climate crisis.
