Faculty of Languages and Literature’s Field Tour for Final Year BS English Language and Literature Students

Faculty of Languages and Literature has successfully completed a study tour accompanied by faculty members, Dr. Tahir Saleem (Associate Head and Professor, FoLL), Mr. Nohaiz Mehmood (Faculty Industry Liaison Officer, FoLL), Ms. Fatima Urooj (Program Coordinator ILO, FoLL) and 11 BS English Final Year students. The tour covered places in Abbotabad, Oughi, Mansehra, and Taxilla. During the tour, the group visited Taxilla Museum to gain insights into heritage preservation efforts. Subsequently, discussions at Army Burn Hall College, Abbottabad centered around the revival of the Mankyali language. The Director of college expressed interest in potential collaborations with UCP by signing an MOU and offering fully funded teacher training workshops. Furthermore, Army Burn Hall College indicated an interest in giving jobs to recently graduated students of the English Department, UCP in BPS 17 grade. In Guldana Village of Oughi, students conducted comprehensive research on Mankyali language focusing on vocabulary and sentence structures. It will contribute to ongoing efforts to preserve and revitalize the language. The tour provided valuable learning opportunities and insights into heritage conservation and language preservation initiatives.
