Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have launched the largest technology incubation centres across Pakistan. These incubation centres are being opened in collaboration with several universities.
Ms. Ambreen Khursheed (Senior Lecturer, UCP Business School) organized a guest speaker session for her students of the Entrepreneurial Finance course on 12th January 2022.
She invited Mr Khabeer Ul Tanwir Khan (Incubation Manager Lahore) and Mr. Omer Khan (Startup Growth Lead) to deliver a session on incubation centres’ role in facilitating young entrepreneurs. Mr. Khabeer Ul Tanwir Khan and Mr. Omer Khan represented the Lahore centre and gave a one-hour session to the Faculty of Management Studies students. The incubation team explained to the students about the NEP NIC project and how it can benefit them towards achieving their goals of launching their startup ideas. They said National Expansion Plan aims to create a nationwide opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into viable ventures. The program provides the following facilities and services for the inducted startups; Monthly stipend, Free workspace, Networking Opportunities, Mentorship, Business Development Guidance, Legal Assistance.
The students showed great interest and inquired about the program, the application, selection process and discussed their business ideas through a detailed question and answer session. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ambreen. The session was followed by a meeting with the Head of Department, Management, Entrepreneurship and HRM, Dr. Aqeel Ahmad and Ms. Ambreen where mutual interest and collaboration were discussed.
