Mr. Waseem Ashraf (Country Coordinator) United Nations Volunteers (UNV), called upon the VIS team to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Volunteers in Service (VIS) department and UNV agreed on creating a network for advocacy and promotion of volunteerism. VIS gather a few like-minded leaders from civil society organizations working on promotion of volunteering among youth to create a network for promotion and advocacy of volunteering at province level. The network was named Punjab Volunteer Network.
It will not only advocate to Government to take the lead and setup volunteering platforms but will also provide a host of volunteering opportunities to youth. The network was established when Covid-19 hit our homeland.
