MoU between UCP and PSRD-CRS

University of Central Punjab (UCP) houses many research labs focusing on developing cutting-edge technologies in diverse knowledge areas. Aimed at conducting applied research, these labs are producing solutions that are beneficial to society at large. Founded on this aim, Pakistan’s first rehabilitation R&D center is operational at UCP helping people with physical disabilities to attain functional independence and lead them toward a normal way of life by reducing the impact of these impairments.

BioMechatronics lab working under the ambit of the National Center of Robotics and Automation (NCRA) at UCP has been joining hands with other organizations to enhance the portfolio of indigenously developed products and even focusing on bespoke projects. In continuation of that, UCP and PRSD College of Rehabilitation Sciences (PSRD-CRS) penned an MoU on February 17, 2022, and will be working closely in future work on the theme “technology killing the disabilities”. The MoU entails conducting multiple collaborative projects and bringing along more opportunities for students providing them exposure to the projects in this area.

Dr. Zohaib Aftab who is heading the BioMechatronics lab at UCP has played an instrumental role in making this collaboration with PSRD. We are sure that through these initiatives, UCP will keep playing its role in supporting differently abled people.
