Orange Line Metro Rail Transit System OLMRTS Visit

Orange Line is an automated rapid transit system in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan & also a part of the Strategic CPEC project from 2019 onward. When it opened in mid-2020, the line was Pakistan’s first metro & landmark strategic project. The Orange line is the first of the three proposed rail lines for the Lahore Metro. The project is led by highly skilled, experienced Chinese & Pakistani professionals, mostly ex-pats.
Faculty members from the Department of Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain visited OLMRTS main depot and Station 1 at Dera Gujjaran on 02-10-22. The faculty members, Mr. Mustafa Hanan, Mr. Naeem, and Ms. Asma, along with HOD Dr. Raja Irfan Sabir, were received and coordinated by Mr. Hafeez Kaleem, DGM Supply Chain OLMRTS. They were taken to different departments of the OLMRTS, including Station 1, Rail garage, comprehensive management department, etc. HOD and faculty members had a productive discussion on the future endeavours with the DGM of Supply Chain. The meeting concluded that we would continue our collaboration on training, consultancy, and internships leading to jobs for our student body and case study writing which would lead to a memorandum of understanding in the future.
