UNODC’s Global Integrity Education (GIE)
UNODC’s Global Integrity Education (GIE) Project stands out at the cutting-edge of innovation in Pakistan. A unique and meaningful programme, it brings together the creative spirit of a large fraternity of academics and university teachers to lead change through building a cadre of integrity ambassadors in private companies by teaching customized learning modules on ethical leadership, challenges to righteous living, behavioural ethics and detecting and investigating corruption to last-year graduate students. This is the first-ever programme of UNODC, funded by the Siemens Integrity Initiative, that has set a benchmark of ethical learning in Pakistan.
UNODC initiated a Virtual Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme hosted by UNODC, Pakistan, in Lahore from 5-8 October 2020 in collaboration with the University of Central Punjab (UCP). The objective was to enhance the capacity of local lecturers to use the contextualized modules in their courses. The event brought together a cohort of 48 eminent academic experts and professors of UCP to go through an interactive, exhilarating and enriching hybrid learning curve. Participants engaged in a series of interactive activities in the programme course, including pre-workshop assignments, a self-paced online course, four webinars, and teaching demonstrations on the modules. Webinars were specifically attended and cherished by academicians from Kenya and Mexico- participants of the GIE Project.
UNODC GIEP organized a Reunion & Revitalization Meeting of Trainers from Four Universities, including UCP, LUMS, PU & UOL, on 12th & 13th October 2021 in Nishat Hotel Lahore. UCP took the lead as most UCP faculty members were allowed to share their views and experiences applying UNODC GIEP Modules as Role Models. The ceremony was graced with the eloquent opening speech of Dr Faisal Mustafa, Provost UCP & Dean BS. He cherished the outstanding efforts of the Faculty and applauded the worthy modules and dedicated efforts of UNODC. He further assured to imbed the gist of these training modules in the curriculum to sensitize youth against the menace of corruption, Drugs and crimes. The ceremony was culminated by presenting UCP Souvenirs to UNODC Representatives.
