University of Central Punjab, Lahore View mapTwo days (May 11-12, 2018) International Pharmacy Scientific Symposium and Poster Exhibition was held at University of Central Punjab and organized by UCP Faculty of Pharmacy, engaging several renowned international and national pharmacy professionals. The theme of the symposium was “Research Trends in Nanotechnology & Health Practices.
The chief guest of the symposium Dr. Musaddiq Malik, spoke person to Prime Minister, addressed the audience and highlighted the role and importance of modern health practices and need of research in emerging nanotechnology field. Moreover, he appreciated the glowing effort of Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Central Punjab and the higher authorities of the University for supporting and organizing such activities.
The Pro-Rector UCP, Dr. Muhammad Zafarullah expressed his appreciation for organizing this successful symposium and highlighted the role of research in uplifting the profession. He emphasized on organizing such events to motivate students, teachers and healthcare professionals. Moreover, he congratulated the faculty for their team work and commitment to the profession.
The Chairman Organizing Committee Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jamshaid welcomed the joining speakers and all the participants. He presented the salient features of the symposium emphasizing new research trends towards nanotechnology in pharmaceutical sciences and health care profession. He remarked with optimism the excellent growth and improvement in research by young researchers and pharmacy students that will not only vivify the University of Central Punjab but also can bring national movement in developing a research culture, a much-needed step in growing academia in the country. In his closing remarks, he wholeheartedly expressed his gratitude to the participants.
The Co-Chairmen organizing committee Prof. Dr. Mahmood Ahmad and Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar also appreciated the efforts of Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Central Punjab and praised its strive for excellence in pharmaceutical research and education. It was further proposed that such research staging platforms should be provided more often to motivate the young researchers and healthcare professionals. They congratulated Mian Amir Mehmood, Professor Suhail Afzal and the administration of university for making such events possible.
Moreover, renowned international and national speakers graced the event and shared their insights. World acclaimed Prof. Dr. Latif Sheikh, the first Asian and only Pakistani Pharmacist to receive Donald E Francke Medal, Mr. Nadeem Zia, Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Educator from Canada, Prof. Dr. James E Dixon from University of Nottingham, UK, Distinguished Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Shakoori from University of the Punjab, Dr. Yeltay Rakhmenove from Itlay.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Haneef from BZU Multan, Professor Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad from USA and Professor Dr. Mukhtar Ansari from University of Hail, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Talha Jamshaid, from Islamia Universty Bahawalpur and 42 other professionals presented their research work in the symposium while more than 120 scientific posters were presented in the exhibition. Abstracts of the symposium were published in Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Research.
In Concluding Sessions, the chief guest Dr. Musaddiq Malik, Pro-Rector UCP Dr. Muhammad Zafarullah and Chairman Organizing Committee, Professor Dr. M. Jamshaid presented souvenirs and gifts to the presenters and thanked them for making the event successful.
